Just a few things I want to remember:
On Sabbath at potluck, Isaac ate all his food and got to have dessert. He ended up with a piece of Carob-Tofu-Something-Healthy-Pie. In the middle of eating it, he stopped, came over to my chair, and told me something like, "thank you for making that pie. I really like it. I hope you make it every Sabbath!" Then went back to his seat and polished off his pie. Sweet boy. I'm glad you liked the pie. =)
This morning, there was much crying coming from Ruby Jean. Her explanation of why she was crying? "He [Isaac] fisted me!" Ha. I think it was on accident while he was swinging his soft blanket around like a crazy man. Gotta work on the whole thinking-before-acting thing. =P
Ruby went to work with David today. (David said she was great and very polite...gotta remember those times as compliments, right? ;D) So I had just two kiddos for the morning. We were getting ready to head out to Wal-Mart when Jadelyn started saying "you're mean" or "you're mad". I think it was "you're mad". Well, she loses a block for saying "you're mean", and if she tells me "you're mad", I just let her know that I'm not. (If I'm not, of course. Ha ha. =P) Anyways, she caught herself, and it turned into something like, "You're maaaaeeeooooowwwwww!" I asked her if she was a kitty cat. Nope. She was an elephant. So I asked her why she was meowing if she was an elephant. Her answer? "Because...I'm an elephant!" Oh, right. So much more clear now. =)
At Wal-Mart, Isaac noticed someone in pink scrubs and asked if she was a doctor. I said she might be, or she might be a nurse or something. But Isaac was quite sure that she was a doctor because, "she looks like she is 'cause her hair's crumbled up". (See, our Nurse Practitioner has curly hair, and so did this lady, so she MUST be a doctor, too! =D)
When putting the kids down for their nap, Ruby laid like she had a cast on. She does this quite often. I asked her if she was worried about stuff. She kind of blew me off. I told her it was okay to be worried. She then told me she was worried that "I can't do stuff" when she has a cast. Poor kid. I'm worried too, kiddo. We'll figure out ways you can still be very involved in life. I love you, Squirrelly Girly!
Anyways, I just love these kids. And their crazy giggles at night when I tickle 'em. Isaac and Jadelyn have quite the contagious giggles and Ruby has quite the crazy giggle/SCREAM that is just as goofy as she is. Love 'em.
Mom to crazy 7 year-old twins, and a crazy 5 year old. Wife to a CRAZY husband. Welcome to my crazy life!!!

Little Things....
I love how Jadelyn has recently started calling me "Mama". The way she says it is just too cute. Except for when it goes on and on and on....you know. But I'm trying to enjoy it even then. ;)
Lately Jadelyn has started making a "maaaaa" sound just for the fun of it. Sounds like a sheep. And cracks me up. She'll be playing along or whatever and then, "maaaaaa!!!" Ha.

Ruby and Isaac are Marrying Themselves Off...Again.
This time at least it's not to family members. =P Just married people. =P
While riding around in the van with Matt and Josie yesterday, Ruby commented to Josie something like, "I wish you hadn't married Mr. Matt. So I could marry him." Josie told Ruby sorry, she had gotten him first. ;) Then, Isaac piped up something like, "I wish you hadn't married Mr. Matt. So I could marry you!" Ha. At least they have good taste in characters, 'eh? =)

Skunks...
There's a lot of dead ones around these parts nowadays. Stinky dead ones. Phew! =P Yesterday on our way to Wal-Mart, (where when we were done shopping Ruby got nailed in the nose by Isaac's shoe as he climbed into his seat, resulting in a bloody nose for my Ruby) Ruby asked me how we could smell a skunk when we were in the van with our windows closed (well, I think she said open but meant closed). Yeah, anyways...off that sidetrack. There are lots of dead stinky skunks around here. Today, we were on our way to a park for part of our party day. We've been having lots of fun with Mr. Matt and Ms. Josie who've been here since Friday night. Oh yeah...so we were on our way to the park, and passed a dead, stinky skunk. Jadelyn said she wanted the skunk out of her nose, and started snorting air out of her nose in an attempt to rid herself of the reekiness. Crazy kid.
Then, after the park, we went to TSC so Isaac could buy the garden sprayer he's been wanting for AGES. He got 7 stickers in a week for good behavior, so earned a treat, and he chose to go buy this sprayer with his money. He stood in line by himself (except for when Ruby joined him), paid for it by himself, and was overall a big man. I was a nervous/anxious/something wreck watching it. And proud, too. Then, it was off to Goodwill, where Ruby picked out some flip-flops like she's been wanting for a long time. She, too, got 7 stickers (actually more, I think) for good behavior, so earned a treat, and she chose to go buy flip-flops with her money. She stood in line by herself, visited with the people behind her, paid for her flip-flops by herself, and was overall a little lady. I was a nervous/anxious/something wreck watching it. And proud, too. Man...when will my kids growing up get easier?

Deer footprint
Tonight, out in the pasture, I showed Jadelyn a deer footprint. She told me something like, "I used ta live there." When asked about that, she told me, "I used ta be a footprint." That's what I get for waking her up from her nap. A delusional child. =D

Fancy
"Fancy" is what Ruby wants things to be when Mr. Matt and Ms. Josie get here tomorrow. She's already decided what "fancy" clothes to wear and what "fancy" hairdo she wants (two buns). I told her that they would love her no matter what she looked like. She said she just wanted to be fancy "for the joy of them coming" or something.
This afternoon, I sent Ruby for some trips around the garden for her poor attitude. Before too long, Jadelyn had to be sent, too. The girls were goofing off on their trips, so Isaac wanted to join them. Before I could get outside to join them, they were happily marching around the garden, with Ruby singing at the TOP OF HER LUNGS "With Jesus in the Family", and I think "Silent Night", and probably some other things I didn't hear. Amazing what some trips around the garden can do for the soul. ;)
When I got outside, Isaac was in the tree, and Ruby was asking if she was done with her 4 trips, yet. I told her she had probably gone more than 4. Which surprised her. Silly gal. The kids then headed off to the sandbox to pick rocks for Mr. Matt and Ms. Josie. You see, Ruby wanted the house to be "fancy", too. So she was going to spread the rocks all over the windowsills. (Mind you, I've just about got all the windows cleaned last week and this week.) I said maybe they could put them in a bowl to show to Mr. Matt and Ms. Josie. They decided to leave them in cups outside. Okay by me, "fancy" kiddos!
Tonight, when putting Lynnie to bed, we prayed, talked some, and sang. "Goodnight, Little Jadelyn" (like every night), then she wanted Jesus Loves Me, then she busted out singing a solo - "Silent Night". When she was done, she told me that was my goodnight song. Because I hadn't sung. She had just sung to me. Special times.
Oh, one last thing to remember for today - when Ruby came out from her nap, she had the cutest, biggest smile, and I THINK she told me she loved me on the way to the bathroom. She was kinda quiet. Not for long, though, noisy gal! Later she told me that she brought out her soft blanket because she thought she didn't sleep long enough, and that I might lay her down in my room. I told her she slept long enough. She then wanted to go get Isaac, who was awake, but she told him to stay in bed in case they hadn't slept long enough. Crazy kids. Makes me wonder how often they're laying awake in their beds waiting 'til it seems late enough! =P
OH!!! Jadelyn finally realized yesterday (I think) that she can get out of her bed and come out of her room when she wakes up from her nap. Crazy gal used to stay in there and yell, "Moooomy!!! Mooooommmmy!!!!" when she woke up. Just like she used to in her crib. Goofy girl.

Quick randomness....
We have a trusted babysitter. One. Ms. Evelyn comes every other week so David and I can go on a date. The kids love her. But apparently Ruby is getting bored with her. Last night when we got home, Ms. Evelyn said that Ruby had asked when Caitlyn, Ms. Evelyn's niece, will come with her again, 'cause it's more fun when Caitlyn comes. Then, I was talking to Ruby about it today, and she said that she wants a new "baby nurser". I asked what a "baby nurser" was. She said something like, you know, the person who watches kids when their parents are gone. I told her that was a "baby SITTER". So, she said she wants a new babysitter. So she can see someone new. Sorry, kiddo. Safe, good, Christian babysitter over meeting someone new. =P
Also learned that Jadelyn told Ms. Evelyn that she didn't want Ms. Evelyn to put her to bed, "Mommy do it". Ms. Evelyn told her that she was going to put Jadelyn to bed, but Mommy would check on her when I got home. Stinker kids.
Today, I watched the 5 year-old son of a friend from church. It went well. Relatively. Besides normal childhood stinker-ness. Poor kid wanted to watch a movie - yeah, we don't do that. Then, we went outside and he wanted to come inside. Crazy. We stayed outside. Gotta learn to love the outdoors sometime, right? =) Anyhow, overall it went quite well, which is really good seems as how we might have him every Wednesday morning.
Ruby and Isaac agreed that they wanted to give this kid their wooden train set. Their awesome wooden train set. The one that Gram and Pucka got them. The one that Isaac loves to set up and watch and watch and watch. That one. What to do? I want my kids to be generous and unselfish, but to be honest, that's probably my favorite toy we have in this house. So...they offered it to his Mom. When she realized it was the WHOLE SET, she turned them down gently. Her son was sad. I was relieved. That's wrong, isn't it? =O
Oh, Ruby gave this poor kid some lessons in "farm" life. First, I overheard her telling him about when one of our chickens was killed. Then later, she was educating him about mouse poison. Something like this: "So, see this here? There is food for mice in here. And they think, 'oh, this is good for me! If I eat it, I will grow big and strong!' And then they eat it, and they walk around for a while, and then they die. 'Cause it's poison. My daddy put it in there. With gloves." She's so matter-of-fact...
That's it! I'm just trying to not get behind.
