Today, Ruby has 3 babies. And they're all sick. One has "parvo", one is "throw-up sick", and one has "cancer". Yikes. What a sad time! =O
I'm not feeling well - getting over a high temp from yesterday. I don't have a fever anymore, but have a headache, sore throat, and just feel a bit "yucky". So...while I was resting on the couch, the kids were playing in Ruby and Isaac's room and then in the living room where I was resting. They were having a pretty nice time, so I got some rest in, which was just lovely. However, when it was time to make lunch, they had generated quite a mess. Toys in Ruby and Isaac's room, cluttering the living room floor, toys in my room, and toys in the laundry room. Oh. And in the bathroom. Yeah, that's pretty much all the rooms in our house. ;) Anyways, I told the kids they needed to start picking up. It was delayed and began grudgingly. Jadelyn, however, really caught on to the work. I would ask her if she was ready for another "job", and she would say "yeah!" and then would do the job I gave her. She was so enthusiastic! After a while, when she finished a job, she would come back and ask, "dob?" and go about doing that. She did get a bit distracted when Isaac was pointing out a dead lightning bug to her. =) Note to self...call things that need to be done "job" - the kids like it much better that way! Maybe it makes them feel grown-up or something. ;)

Lynnie's TWO!!! =O
So....yesterday was Jadelyn's SECOND birthday. I have no idea how that happened so quickly. It's just crazy. 2 year-old Jadelyn likes going to sleep at night about as much as 1 year-old Jadelyn...which isn't much, if you must know. ;P We had a low key day with variations of "Happy Birthday" being sung off and on throughout the day. Lynnie wanted a "cake" on top of her cake, so that's what we did. I colored different colors on a piece of paper and let her pick which color she wanted for the cake, the cake on top of the cake, the trim, the trim for the cake on top, the writing, and the candles for the cake on top of the cake. Sweet girl picked only yellow, blue, and green....two primary colors and the color one gets when mixing those two colors - thanks for saving me on work, baby girl! =) After supper, (and none of us finished the cake - it was WAY too sweet), we had a pool party in our wading pool. Well, the kids and I did. David thought it was cold or something, so he just stayed standing up. =)
After the kids were in bed, David went out to do his round of nightly animal chores, and when he came in, he wouldn't get out of my way when I was sweeping. Because he was sad. Our "Mama chicken" - the blond one, was killed by an unknown intruder. She was our favorite! And the fattest. Probably the reason she was chosen. So sad. =( So, we're back to locking the chickens up at night. Yeah, we shouldn't have stopped. =(
Oh! And one neat story to share. On Sunday night, the power went off for no apparent reason. We finished getting ready for bed by candlelight. Because my clock only works when there's power, I put on my watch. And accidentally hit a button which made an alarm go off every hour. Just a beep, really...not a full-fledged alarm. Anyways. In the morning, I was having worship, and I'm working on doing the "Empowered Living" activities. The activity for Monday was to set an alarm to go off every hour to remind us to stay tuned to God. I don't know how to set my watch to do that, so I figured that I would just remember to look at my watch every hour and stuff. But God apparently knew better! =) When I was getting ready for the day, I heard my watch beep, and it was at that point that I realized it was beeping every hour on the hour...I had heard it beep at 11pm the night before, but didn't think anything about it. But when I heard it at 7am, it hit me. Because of my "accidental" bump, my watch was going off every hour. Isn't God GOOD?!?!?! I sure want to learn to trust Him more!
